The documentary film TAIPEILOVE* is apart of a series of films being streamed this month at Queer East’s Docs4Pride event. The event is aiming to uplift and amplify marginalised LGBTQ+ voices from across Asia, with TAIPEILOVE* covering the perception of homosexuality in Taiwanese society as it became the Asian country to legalize same-sex marriage.
Directed by German director Lucie Liu, the film focuses on Sarah, Kevin and David, and shares their stories about finding love, navigating their place in society, coming out and negative familial reactions. The film also includes interviews from activists, lawmakers and experts, documenting the long struggle for marriage equality in Taiwan.
The film has Chinese audio with English subtitles and will be available to stream on Vimeo through 17th July and 24th July. More information can be found here: https://queereast.org.uk/event/taipeilove-docs4pride/
