From 11-22 May, UK-based Taiwanese dancer George Liang (梁秩傑) has curated a digital programme titled the ‘Quarantine Project’, which invites dancers and choreographers from Taiwan to perform short, original pieces on his Project Sau.te online platform, which broadcasts live at midday UK time. The performances remain archived on Facebook, making them accessible at any time.
In a feature written by Dancing Review, the project was praised for the creativity of the dancers, who have used and incorporated the rooms in which they are dancing into their performances. Additionally, the quality of the dance on display was praised, with the article noting that “Taiwan has one of the world’s best dance education systems and a unique style that lends itself to grace and purpose.”
