The Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan then delighted London audiences between 26-29 February with performances of ’13 Tongues and Dust,’ featuring choreography by Lin Hwai-min and new Artistic Director Cheng Tsung-lung. The show received critical praise, with The Times calling the performance “astoundingly good.”
In his speech at a VIP reception to celebrate the opening night performance, Representative Lin pointed out that this residency marked the tenth occasion that Cloud Gate have performed in London, and that through their critically acclaimed shows they have become renowned cultural ambassadors for Taiwan.
Representative Lin also commented that this occasion is particularly special as special it is a collaboration between long-time Artistic Director Lin Hwai-min 林懷民 who retired at the end of 2019, and the work on their new Director Mr Cheng Tsung-lung 鄭宗龍.
