Taiwanese Cellist Melody Lin held a lunchtime concert on Tuesday, 12 March at the renowned St Martin-in-the-Fields as part of their Lunchtime Concert Series.
A recipient of the prestigious Trinity Laban Scolarship, Melody entertained a packed audience, performing Beethoven’s Sonata for Cello No. 3 (1807-1809) and Barber’s Sonata for Cello and Piano (1932) whilst accompanied by pianist Andrea Emanuele. Representative David Lin and other colleagues from the Taipei Representative Office in the UK were in attendance to show their support.
Melody will hold a further concert in London on Friday, 15 March at the Drake Calleja Trust, tickets for which can be purchased here
Melody, who recently completed her Master’s Degree, is set to join the Southbank Sinfonia - a young orchestra of highly talented musicians, seen as a springboard into the professional world. Melody is one of only four cellists to be accepted into the Orchestra this year, evidencing her talent and determination.
