Queer East from 3rd July to 31st July will be streaming a series of documentary films as apart of Docs4Pride, which aims to uplift and amplify marginalised LGBTQ+ voices from across Asia, aligning with global conversations about racial justice and the recognition of minority groups.
TAIPEILOVE* is a documentary covering the perception of homosexuality in Taiwanese society during the crucial moments in becoming the first country in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage. Directed by Lucie Liu, the film focuses on Sarah, Kevin and David, and shares their stories about finding love, navigating their place in society, coming out and negative familial reactions. The film also includes interviews from activists, lawmakers and experts, documenting the long struggle for marriage equality in Taiwan. The film is in Mandarin with English subtitles and will be able to be streamed through the platform Vimeo from 17th July to 24th July.
