The Taiwan Film Festival is a nomadic UK festival delving deep into the rich history and culture of the people of Taiwan.

For the first time, the Festival was planned to take place in Edinburgh but, in light of the global pandemic, the event was re-pivoted to a purely online form. With the event now happening digitally between 18 and 27 September 2020, Taiwan Film Festival Edinburgh’s team still hopes to present physical screenings to Edinburgh audiences later in the year.

Taiwan Film Festival Edinburgh presents 20 carefully selected titles, half of which are UK premieres. In addition to screenings, the Festival also hosts Q&As and panel discussions, hoping to build a platform for filmmakers in Taiwan and audiences in the UK to connect and also to foster the cultural exchange between Taiwan and Europe.

Access to Taiwan Film Festival Edinburgh titles is free and limited to 400 users per title. It is also geo-blocked to UK users only.
